The Living Laboratory has announced that its annual Healthcare Innovation Symposium will take place on Wednesday 5 November at the Queen Elizabeth Teaching and Learning Centre.
The full-day event will bring together delegates from across academia, industry, and healthcare to explore how pioneering ideas can be translated into impactful solutions that deliver real-world value within the NHS and beyond.
A highlight of the programme will be a keynote address from Sir Tony Kouzarides, a world-renowned cancer scientist, entrepreneur, and innovation leader. He will share his perspective on how groundbreaking ideas and collaborative innovation can drive meaningful change in healthcare.
The agenda also includes expert-led sessions on shaping, positioning, and scaling healthcare innovations for adoption and success, alongside interactive panels examining real-world challenges, opportunities, and case studies.
Confirmed speakers include Professor Iain McInnes, Professor Ross Cagan, and Professor Jesse Dawson - with the full programme and speaker line-up coming soon.
Call for posters: Showcase your research
As part of the symposium, the Living Laboratory is hosting a poster competition, with submissions now open. Posters will be displayed for the duration of the event, with prizes for the top three posters awarded at the end of the day.
Submissions are invited from PhD students and early career researchers (defined by career stage, up to and including Research Fellows) working in areas such as digital health technologies, AI adoption in healthcare, medical imaging, precision medicine, sustainable healthcare solutions, and the use of VR, robotics, or 3D printing in healthcare.
As a general guide, your work should aim to deliver solutions that can be adopted into clinical settings, achieve cost savings for the NHS, and improve patient outcomes.
The poster abstract submission deadline is Tuesday 16 September 2025, 23:59 (BST).
