My Future Skills Award
Boost your skills. Build your future. Get recognised
As a final year undergraduate or taught postgraduate student in the College of Science and Engineering you are invited to take part in the CoSE My Future Skills Award — a programme designed to help you stand out to employers, connect with your community, and recognise the skills and experience gained through your extra-curricular activities.
It is flexible, fits around your schedule and interests, and is included on your Higher Education Achievement Record.
How to complete the Award
1. Kick things off: Watch a short introductory video to find out what the Award is all about and how it works.
2. Choose and complete 3 activities — 1 from each pillar:
• My Career Readiness – Build confidence in your career journey
• My Community – Get involved, give back, and grow
• My Skillset – Develop practical, transferable skills
3. Check the details: Explore each activity to see what is involved, how to get involved, and what evidence you’ll need to provide to achieve the Award.
4. Wrap it up: Complete your Award journey with a short reflection activity. Take time to recognise your progress and clearly show how your experiences have built valuable skills—perfect for strengthening your CV, interviews, and job applications.
