This session introduces staff to peer learning as a dynamic and inclusive form of active learning. Designed for educators seeking to enhance student engagement and collaboration, the session explores key principles, benefits, and practical applications of peer learning across disciplines.
The session covers the theoretical foundations of peer learning, evidence-based strategies to implement it, and a practice-based exercise where participants will experience peer learning techniques first-hand. Through guided activities and reflection, attendees will gain insight into how peer learning can foster deeper understanding, critical thinking, and a sense of community among learners. By the end of the session, participants will be equipped with practical tools to implement peer learning activities in their own teaching contexts and encouraged to consider how it can support diverse learning needs and promote student agency.
This session is open to staff of the University of Glasgow. Graduate Teaching Assistants are welcome to register for the purpose of developing their own teaching practice, but please note that these sessions are not suitable for any students seeking training for their own PhD research projects. Contact your School for information on the research methods training available to you as a student. For the avoidance of doubt as to eligibility, please register using your staff email address.
