This presentation explores the history of camouflage as a multidisciplinary collaboration during the 20th century. From zoologists and entomologists to artists, individuals from diverse fields contributed to developing camouflage techniques for military use during both World Wars.

This talk focuses on the University of Glasgow’s Zoology department's pivotal, yet underappreciated role in this history, particularly through the contributions of Professor John Graham Kerr and Hugh Cott.

The presentation will feature materials from zoology, entomology, art, as well as the University's Archives and Special Collections, engaging with the story of how science and art intersected during times of conflict.
