Committees were also formed in relation to colleague's absences abroad. Adam Smith was a member of the committee to examine the request from the Primate of Ireland to allow Professor John Anderson - see his University of Glasgow Story biography - to extend his absence in France with Mr Campbell, as recorded in the Senate minutes, 13th February 1755.
