How to get support

There are three ways to get support from the Disability Service:

Complete a Study Support Request

A ‘Study Support Request’ or ‘SSR’ is a quick, online form for you to tell us about what you struggle with or find difficult, what support may have worked for you in the past, and what you think may be helpful to you now. Completing an SSR is the quickest and best way to get started with the Disability Service and get study support in place. Complete your SSR now.

What happens after you complete your Study Support Request?

Once you submit your SSR, a Disability Adviser will review your information, and we will email you about next steps. Depending on what you have told us, we may be able to put adjustments to your teaching or assessment in place right away. We may invite you to book an appointment with a Disability Adviser. If we do, you can choose between online and in-person appointments.

While you are waiting for us to respond to your SSR, there are other sources of support available:

  • Your Adviser of Studies is named on your MyCampus record and can support you with any concerns about teaching and assessment. You can find your Adviser of studies here by clicking on the Adviser Information tile.

Come along to a drop-in

If you’d like to chat with a Disability Adviser, come to one of our daily term time drop-ins during term time drop-ins:

Mondays 11.05am to 12.55pm

Tuesdays 11.05am to 12.55pm

Wednesdays 2.05pm to 3.55pm

Thursdays 2.05pm to 3.55pm

Fridays 12.05pm to 1.55pm

At a drop-in, you can speak with the Disability Adviser about what the Disability Service can provide and if our service is right for you. Often, we will be able to put support in place for you right away. You can also attend a drop-in if you are already using the Disability Service and want to check in about your support.

You can attend in person by coming to the Fraser building at one of the drop-in times. If you prefer to attend an online drop-in, call 0141 330 5497 during the drop-in times and one of the team will arrange this for you.
