In September, we were delighted to launch the new Embedding Employability Framework. Piloting in the academic year 2025/2026 with twelve courses across the four Colleges, this new Framework will provide a consistent University approach and build on existing good practice to embed employability within curriculum design and delivery, empowering students to understand and articulate their skills and knowledge.

Designed and developed alongside the Learning Through Assessment Framework and Curriculum for Life, the Embedding Employability Framework supports a key part of the Learning and Teaching Strategy which aims to integrate skills development within the curriculum. It offers a structured, collaborative process with practical resources to help identify, surface, enhance and assess the skills and employability value students gain through their studies.

In October, Daniel Mitchell, Academic Partnerships Manager in Careers, Employability & Opportunity, hosted a webinar to introduce University colleagues to the Framework, and demonstrate a selection of the new resources that have been created for staff. 94 colleagues attended the webinar, with several staff members signing up to become early adopters ahead of a future rollout.
