Assessment Planning

When preparing for the start for the new academic year, there are some important resources and guidelines to consider when preparing for assessment:

Policies & Requirements

There are a number of academic policies, procedures and associated guidance to consider ahead of a new academic year, including:

Colleagues are reminded to consult the Learning & Teaching digital accessibility guidance, as there is a legal obligation to provide students with materials in accessible formats:

Risk Assessments

Risk assessment is a valuable tool in preventing and controlling risks in the workplace, helping with the planning of work, the development of safety procedures and reducing the number of accidents in the workplace.

Community & Support

There are several community groups available for colleagues to collaborate, share experiences, and support one another.

The Course Coordinators Network is available to support any member of staff who leads a course or has a teaching-related role. There are specific sub-groups and events for Level 1, Level 2, and PGT co-ordinators, but the network is open to all and aims to support student retention and success and provide support to staff in their administrative roles by sharing best practice.

The Good Practice in Learning & Teaching Group provides a platform for colleagues to share, explore, and promote effective teaching practices across disciplines. While the Online Support Network is a collaborative forum where colleagues can discuss technical challenges, share insights, and work together to find practical solutions.
