What is the Wellbeing Programme?
Regular physical activity boosts both physical and mental health. That’s why UofG Sport offers a free self-referral wellbeing programme, designed to support University of Glasgow staff and students to become more active and improve their mental health.
Led by our friendly Active Lifestyle team, the programme includes personalised 1:1 coaching and small group sessions—no experience needed.
Proudly supported by the University of Glasgow, the programme is completely free to join and complete.
Why should I become more active?
Being active supports mental and physical health. Exercise boosts mood, energy, and fitness, while also offering social and personal benefits.
It can build confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of purpose—whether you're meeting new people or enjoying time alone.
Staying active can boost self-esteem, confidence, and help you feel valued.
Enjoyable, structured activity gives purpose and helps you achieve goals.

Member Feedback
“The Wellbeing Programme helped me incorporate sport and physical activity into my daily life. After an introductory meeting and some recommendations, you get to choose how you want to tackle the programme and what range of activities you are most interested in. Through 1-1 sessions, I was able to get the support and structure that I required to get started on fitness rather than facing them on my own with no previous experience. If, like me, you feel like you never have the time or energy to exercise but you know you need to change that, this is an excellent starting point.”
Classes & Activities
Over 100 group exercise classes per week during termtime, REVOLVE indoor cycling studio, squash courts, sports halls, table tennis, pitches... you name it, we've probably got it!
