Hi! I’m Leanna and I am based at Lancaster University. I have a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Psychological Research Methods, during which I developed a strong interest in neuropsychology and neuroscience. I have previously worked on projects examining how memory could be impacted by motor imagery, and the role of sleep on glucose metabolisation. My PhD combines these two areas of interest and explores how sleep architecture impacts offline memory processing.
I use EEG and other sleep recordings alongside cognitive behavioural testing to investigate the ways in which sleep structure contributes to the consolidation of procedural and declarative memories in the human brain. When I’m not in the sleep lab, you’ll usually find me hiking in the Lake District or exploring the North-West with my dog
