We are delighted to share that Professor Sreevas Sahasranamam has recently been invited to join the G20 Digital Economy Working Group, marking an exciting development in the impact of the Adam Smith Business School's research on global policy discussions.

Following his participation at the Skoll World Forum earlier this month and related outreach connected to his Grand Challenges-funded project on Digital Commons, Sreevas’s work has captured the attention of the G20’s digital economy team under South Africa’s presidency. His research, which explores how digital commons can support informal and micro-entrepreneurship, particularly in the Global South, informs a key policy note that the G20 team prepares this year.

As a first step in this collaboration, Sreevas addressed an online G20 gathering, joining a panel discussion alongside representatives from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Research ICT Africa, and a World Bank consultant. The event brought together digital economy delegates from across the G20 nations and provided a vital platform to highlight the relevance of research led by the Business School to real-world economic and social challenges.

This engagement is a testament to the growing international recognition of research carried out at ASBS, but it also underscores our commitment to producing knowledge that drives positive change, particularly for communities and economies often overlooked in global policy conversations. We look forward to seeing how this collaboration evolves and how the insights from our School continue to shape policy directions at the highest levels.

Congratulations to Sreevas on this achievement and for continuing to amplify the School’s impact on a global stage!
