Biography
Felix's research focuses on the intersection of organisational sociology and information systems. His work examines how socially patterned practices (e.g., the use of new technologies to complete certain tasks) and environmental conditions (e.g., technology hype) influence how individuals and groups behave within organisations, how organisations are structured, and how they interact with key audiences. Felix is passionate about bridging academic research with real-world application, frequently collaborating with industry partners to drive innovation and support organisational transformation.
He was a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Early Stage Researcher at the University of Glasgow. His doctoral research was part of the EC funded MCSA-ITN Project Legitimation of Newness and Its Impact on EU Agenda for Change, exploring the legitimation of new technologies, business models, and ecosystems in FinTech. Afterwards, Felix joined the UKRI/ESRC-funded Future Finance project as a Research Associate. The project, a collaboration with the University of Bristol, Glasgow Caledionian University, and the University of the West of England, investigated ways to enhance the innovation capacity of small and medium-sized financial services firms.
Felix holds a bachelor’s degree in business and management from Aalen University in Germany, a master’s in entrepreneurship, innovation & technology from Strathclyde Business School and a PhD in Management from the University of Glasgow.
