Biography

Margaret joined the Adam Smith Business School in 2009 after she completed her PhD and ESRC post-doctoral studies in International Business at Glasgow. She was a member of the School's Senior Leadership Team and Head of Management Subject (2021-24). Margaret led the School’s Athena Swan Gender Equality application, which was awarded in 2019.

Her research interests are in the field of International Business and International Entrepreneurship. Her research is on the internationalisation process of firms and learning, and has a strong policy focus.

Margaret has a wide range of lecturing and supervision experience and specialises in experiential learning pedagogy in International Business and team based learning.

She is currently vice chair of Teaching Innovations for the Teaching and Education special interest group at the Academy of International Business and has served on the executive board of the AIB UK and Ireland chapter as doctoral convenor and DEI officer.
