This service is for Undergraduate and Masters students only. All PhD and staff order requests should use your research group or local ordering arrangements.

We have a good trading relationship with Farnell, RS Components, Rapid Electronics and CPC. Where possible, these suppliers should be used, even if they appear to be more expensive. We normally expect deliveries from these suppliers in 2-3 days. Always make sure that sufficient stock of what you want is available and that it can be delivered in time for your needs. All goods ordered must be collected in person from the Electronics store, Rankine room 713 or Electronics workshop, Rankine room 712A.

If the parts and materials that you require are NOT available from the above suppliers, we can buy from most UK registered Limited companies, provided they accept a purchasing card for payment. Note that our internal processing system for this type of order is slow and delivery times will be extended by several days. Please try to use our contracted suppliers noted above. University rules do not allow us to buy from any online marketplaces such as Ebay.

We can order from Amazon Prime Business. This is NOT the same as the Consumer website. The range of products available is generally limited to a subset of the ‘Amazon Prime’ range. We cannot buy products sold and shipped by 3^rd parties that are using the Amazon Consumer website as a ‘shop window’. There are restrictions on what categories of products that the University can buy from Amazon – please ask for further details.

Please don’t order anything from Digi-key UK and Mouser UK unless there is no alternative UK supplier. Orders from these businesses are directly supplied from abroad. Deliveries are usually very slow and expensive because of international import and customs processes.
