I have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to undertake this Editorial Fellowship, especially with such a supportive and encouraging editorial team. Through this, I have gained insights into the inner workings of a journal which have been immensely helpful in helping navigate my own manuscript submissions and in developing as a clinical academic.

Sarah Bowers, University of St Andrews, Scotland
Current Editorial Fellow

Being involved in key editorial responsibilities such as selecting and assigning reviewers, assessing peer review reports, and making editorial recommendations strengthened my critical appraisal skills at a pivotal stage of my career. This fellowship is an excellent opportunity for medical researchers seeking meaningful exposure to academic publishing, and I hope JOMC and SAGE will continue to build on this initiative bringing fellows together and creating something larger and more lasting for the academic publishing community.

Antony Stanley, Sree Chitra Thirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, India
Current Editorial Fellow

Being able to complete an editorial fellowship with JoMC was incredibly helpful for understanding peer review from a different perspective. Assigning reviewers and deliberating over reviewer comments and manuscript decisions gave me important insight into the care that is required to ensure a thoughtful, rigorous peer review process.

Hilary K. Brown, University of Toronto Scarborough, Canada
Previous Editorial Fellow, now Associate Editor for JoMC
