All welcome

The Glencoe 2025 Team will present the results of their third field school season, part of the Glencoe Landscape, Archaeology and Storytelling (GLAS) project. The survey investigated two clusters of 17th–19th-century of houses and enclosures by the River Coe and the 19th-century Achnacon Farm. The excavation discovered a surprising number of hearths in a 17th-century house, a still mysterious structure that may or may not be a grain-drying kiln, and evidence for intensive management of soils through kailyards and rig and furrow. The creative media team produced a series of creative works engaging with the sound of waterfalls and underground burns and with the earth colours revealed by the excavations.
