"The teaching staff met me exactly where I was and provided the support I needed to build my skills and grow in confidence."
I didn't come into university with a strong background in Maths, but that was never a barrier in the Q-Step programme. The teaching staff met me exactly where I was and provided the support I needed to build my skills and grow in confidence.
The hands-on, applied training I got through Q-Step was invaluable. It directly contributed to me securing a research internship in the third sector and later being accepted into a fully funded PhD programme. Thanks to the strength of my methods training, I was even able to enter the PhD directly, without completing a Master's degree first.
Q-Step has been a discovery journey for me. I came to see the power and potential of quantitative approaches in tackling social inequality and informing real-world change. As the only student in my cohort to follow this programme combined with Sociology, I'm now keen to raise awareness of the programme. It's an opportunity I'd strongly encourage other students to explore.
