Workshop outline
Join us at the start of the new academic year, for an interactive and practical training session which will help you to provide better teaching and supervision for your students of colour.
The session will explore:
- Key concepts in relation to your role in teaching and supervision, including anti-racism; white privilege and intersectionality. You will learn about how these concepts apply to your role as teacher and supervisor.
- Tools and techniques for teaching and supervision, including how to spot when your student is not coping; how to deal with fears of “getting it wrong”; resources for understanding more about anti-racism.
The session will be a mixture of presentation and small group discussion. There will be the opportunity to share best practice and what you have found works within your discipline or subject area.
This will be a supportive session, in which you should feel able to bring any questions or concerns to the table. Udeni will offer 1:1 follow-ups for workshop participants via Teams, for confidential and tailored advice.
