We are thrilled to announce that two School of Infection & Immunity Technicians have been shortlisted for 2025 Papin Prizes.
- Miss Deborah Sym - Shortlisted for Contribution to Outreach
- Dr Lesley Morrison – Shortlisted for Contribution to Research
Named after 17th-century physicist Denis Papin, these are the UK’s only awards dedicated to recognising the exceptional work of technical staff and teams in academia and research.
Nominees for the Contribution to Outreach prizes are members of technical staff who made a significant contribution to the student teaching and learning experience.
A Contribution of Research nomination, meanwhile, recognises those who have made a significant contribution to REF, data generation/analysis, method design, generating research income, publications, next-generation equipment, or apparatus to support research.
Being shortlisted is a remarkable achievement and a testament to a technician's dedication and impact.
All shortlisted individuals are invited to attend the UK Higher Education Technicians Summit in Hinckley on Wednesday, 9 July 2025, where the Papin Prize winners will be announced.
Best of luck to both Deborah and Lesley in the final round.
