Billy Grove takes up the post of inaugural Comics-Solar-in-Residence at the Center for Comics Studies in San Diego
I was recently honoured to be offered the post of inaugural Comics-Scholar-in-Residence at San Diego’s Center for Comics Studies, based at SDSU. I will be spending the Fall Semester here, alongside the Comics-Artist-in-Residence, Vincent Deighan (aka Frank Quitely). The Center draws upon one of the finest comics libraries in North America and sponsors numerous events for both geeks and non-geeks. As well as teaching ‘History 157: The History of Comics in 10 SDSU Treasures’, which is open both for credit and to the general public, outreach engagements so far have included an evening at the Little Fish Comic Book Studio, and a visit to a local High School for Comics Day. To be continued…
